UPDATE: Network issues are now resolved. You can now tune in!! Thanks!
UPDATE: We are currently only running one 48kbps AAC+ stream.
Here’s the skinny on what’s up with KXRT. For the last week or so, we’ve had several network-related issues at our studios. We feel like we’ve had the main cause of the problem figured out and mostly resolved. As of today, we are still seeing some difficulty and low performance on the network. The technicians are working on it and will hopefully have it completely resolved today.
On the other hand, we’ve also run into some computer hardware trouble. Our main music server has, over time, developed a very high-pitched whine that has come around more and more frequently. I have yet to discover what is causing this noise. That aside, I also found the overall performance of the machine has drastically been faltering. I installed some newer, faster RAM and it hasn’t helped.
Meanwhile, to help keep KXRT up and running, I’ve put most of the needed software and our music library hard drive on another system. Until I’ve installed a few more items, the sound of the station will not be as smooth and polished as it was. The music is strictly set to random so the songs and the jingles and promos will not be in good order. I should hopefully have that resolved later today as well.
Keep your eyes here and on the Facebook page as the day progresses. I will post updates as they happen.
Thank you so much for your patience and your loyalty to KXRT. It means the world to me!
