Hey friends! It is with mixed emotions that I make this announcement about Sunday programming today.

Due to several factors, mainly the future growth and success of America’s Country, An Inspired Selection will no longer be featured on Sundays. Instead, we will continue to play Hot Country Hits, weekend style. We’ll shortly be adding specialty programming as well. That may include replaying our Saturday shows like CD-TEX and Texas Country Music Countdown.

My mixed feelings are stemming from my deep, Christian beliefs. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I feel, as any Christian would, that spreading the Gospel is so key to living the religion. I have always felt like I was doing that by giving one day to Him. I have always felt conflicted in that this internet station is a business and I should treat it and think of it as a business. My personal, religious beliefs and feelings should really be separated.

On the business side of things, I see the number of listeners drop steeply each Sunday. I’ve observed and learned from many others that with internet radio, as well as radio in general, success is maintained and gained through consistency. Playing LDS music on Sundays completely ruined the consistent presentation I was trying to build. I was actually fighting against my own success.

This Sunday, August 31st, will be the last time An Inspired Selection will be broadcast on America’s Country. Beginning in September, America’s Country will be Hot Country Hits 24 hours a day, seven days a week! I’m very excited to see the results of this tough decision.

I hope you understand and I hope you enjoy this change we’re making.

Thank you! Love ya!

  1. Dear Timmy,
in our small american food store in Germany we listen to America’s Country every day. Of course Sunday we’re closed, so I had no idea you would play LDS music. I am myself a member of the Church, and being a business man the same time, I do understand the conflict you are encountering very well. From my experience I can encourage you to the decision you made not playing LDS music on the radio station you want to grow with. You always get to a point where you have to set your priorities. Radio is business. Church is church. You are doing great with the radio. I love your station! Missionary work is done by example, and living righteous principles. The more famous your station becomes, the more will people look at who’s behind it. They will watch and observe you, and by your example they will start wondering, and asking questions about your life style. You have the opportunity to influence people for good by the way you lead your business or radio station. One reason why you have only little numbers of peole listening on Sundays could be that they are all at church 😉 lol
Seriously, keep going! You have our support all the way from Germany!

    1. Andreas,

Your comments mean so much to me! Thank you very much for your words of encouragement. I’m happy to know we have connected through this medium across the planet! I really feel like this is the best decision to encourage further growth and success. Amazing! 2. Bonjour,
