2017 is looking like a great year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I am very much looking forward to the New Year! 2017 is going to be a fantastic year for America’s Country! We’re still working our way back to where we were before we were forced to pull the plug almost a year ago. It’s been a slow climb but I’m more than happy to keep pushing and pushing. Due to some major differences in the financial aspects of how we are able to be on the air, we have to be a little more creative. I am proud to say we have some interesting changes coming in 2017.

Internet radio is not “regular” or terrestrial radio. Yes, we can certainly do the same things and play the same songs as regular radio stations do, but why? In choosing music we play on America’s Country, I’ve always retained my love for the great hits of the 90s and early 2000s. We play today’s biggest hits, newcomers, and some tunes you may never hear anywhere else. I also play songs that were hot in the past months or year that radio has stopped playing. Some examples are Burning House by Cam and Better Than You Left Me by Mickey Guyton. I play these tunes because they are just great songs and sound good. I also play a bunch of 90s hits that are just fantastic to hear again and again. Shania Twain, The Tractors, and of course, George Strait and Garth Brooks are always amazing to hear.

The Plan

What I will be doing over the next weeks and months is gradually shifting our musical focus away from today’s Top 40 hits and more towards this great library of hits from the 90s and early 2000s. America’s Country will still play these Hot Country Hits and continue to break new songs when they sound good and fit in with the sound of America’s Country. I love Country Music and I know you do too.

I am very excited for these changes and will absolutely keep my hand to the pulse to make sure these changes are good changes. The New Year is going to be amazing and I can’t wait!

Happy New Year!

Christmas Music

Christmas-Spirit-575x431Friends, I’m excited to start sprinkling in some Christmas Music into the regular playlist over the next month! We’re going to be starting slowly. At first, we’ll be adding in about one song per hour. We will feature some of the biggest classics from Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Brenda Lee as well as your favorite Country performers. Garth, Carrie, Lonestar and Lady A.

Christmas Music is fantastic and I love it deeply. I also know that sometimes, it can get overwhelming. We’ll try to keep it fresh and interesting. We’ll crank up how many songs we play every week or so. Finally, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we’ll play 48 hours of commercial-free Christmas Music!

Thank you all for listening to America’s Country and Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Season’s Greetings!

Quick Update – Summer 2016

Howdy friends!
I wanted to post here quickly to let you know that things are still in the works to get us back online. I don’t have any more information at this time to share. I’m truly just running on hope that this thing can come back around!

I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Please be safe and feel free to share some pictures of your activities here or on our Facebook page.

Thank you!

Thank you!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to make this announcement. America’s Country, as of March 1st, 2016, is ending broadcasting. It has been extremely fun and truly rewarding to bring you the best music for the past several years. I would not trade it for anything!
I also need you to understand that if things in the industry change and a worldwide stream is a viable option, I will hurry back and bring America’s Country back!

Thank you again and I love you all!

Streaming blocked in the USA… and more details

After some deep soul searching and looking at all the options, I’ve come to the decision to continue making great radio with America’s Country.

If you were not aware, over the Holidays, the major groups that set the rates for royalties and other such fees have left small webcasters from the US in the dust. Where I was paying less than $150 a month for coverage in 2015, I would be paying more than $5,000 a month in 2016. Thus, the decision to continue broadcasting will have to include electronically blocking any listeners in the United States.

I would be happy to have a deeper, more detailed conversation with anyone who wishes, but suffice it to say, I’m not happy with this. Because I have a passion and love for entertaining and for American Country Music, I will continue in a new attitude of being an ambassador of US Country Music to the rest of the world. There is still hope that something will come about and we will get our reasonable rates restored. It’s not very likely, but I am still hoping for it and if it does happen, I will resume US broadcasting immediately.

Thank you all for your continued support!

Station Updates & News

Hey friends!! It’s been a bit since I last posted and I wanted to bring you up to speed on some neat stuff going on. First of all let me thank you, sincerely, for being a loyal listener and for being a supporter of America’s Country. Did you know that just by listening, you help bring in revenue to our station? Just by sitting through our very brief 2 minute commercial breaks, your’e helping us! So, thank you!

Next, we have some exciting news about the triumphant return of our excellent morning show, The Bobby D Show. You may have already heard, but we are super proud to welcome back Bobby and his crew every weekday morning at 6am Mountain time. Each morning, Bobby brings us four hours of excellent entertainment, music and celebrity interviews. Be sure to drop him a line at thebobbydshow@gmail.com and let him know you listen on America’s Country!

Coming very soon, we will be holding a promotion for our friends at CVX Live. If you’ve not heard of CVX Live yet, you will! The team at Bored Shorts TV, a comedy channel on YouTube, put together a “con” for YouTube Creators and Viewers. They had an incredible turn-out back in the summer and are expecting an even bigger turn-out coming up in March. It will be held at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on March 25th & 26th, 2016. We will be giving away free tickets to this event through different contests on the air, on Facebook, on Twitter and through text messages! We’re working out all the details and coming up with some nifty ways to give these away so please stay tuned and keep an eye on our social media! I know many of you are not in or near Utah, but let me tell you, the trip will be worth it! (as always, contests are only for residents of the USA)

Thank you all again for listening and being our friends! Love ya!

New design and more!

Hi folks! I want to just bring you up to date with some of the cool and exciting changes going on. Most recently, we worked with a great company to design a new look for America’s Country. We’ve made all the changes and are super excited about this! We’ve had some great looking representation of our brand up to this point but this is a major improvement. If you’re around and still see any of our old logos still out there, please hit me up and we’ll get it taken care of.

We’ve also made some more improvements to our audio. We truly strive to be the best sounding Hot Country Hits station in the world! Thanks to great technology like digital processing from Stereo Tool and music playback and scheduling from Station Playlist, we are very confident that we will achieve our goal! Click the highlighted items above to find out more about these great tools.

To help support us, there are many ways. You can always visit and purchase products from our sponsors who have their ads on the air. You can click on banner ads on our web sites (please disable your ad blocker tools!). And you can make a donation with our PayPal links. Now, we added an Amazon.com shopping widget on our main website. The cool thing here is that you make the same purchases at the same prices from Amazon, and they pay us back! All of this is designed to be available for you but not be obnoxious and get in your way. We appreciate all that you do to support America’s Country. Thank you all!

Thank you all for your support and for listening to America’s Country!

Summer 2015 Updates

Hwassupappy Summer!! I want to quickly run down a few things I feel are important to mention. First, we had a change in service providers. This shouldn’t mean anything major to you guys and you may not have even noticed. That’s a good thing! However, there are some benefits we’ll see in the near future. One is that a feature offered is listing our station on ShoutCast. ShoutCast is a big hub for internet radio and it used to be limited to those streaming through their own systems. However, lately there’s been some changes that allow others to be listed as well. This is a good thing because more exposure means more of you guys listening to our fantastic music and programming, but also listening to our ads. Because we’re a business, we need to make money to keep things going. We don’t intend to make a lot of money, but at least enough to keep going and maybe upgrade things from time to time. This is why we’re cool with playing two minutes of commercials per break and only four minutes per hour. There are some other neat things about our new provider, like fallback audio files. This protects the streams in case a connection fails somewhere along the line. Audio keeps playing so you don’t lose your connection to us. We’re very happy to be with this new company.

To further our goal of providing the best listening experience, we’ve made some significant upgrades to our audio. You may have noticed over the past couple of months that the sound of America’s Country has changed a bit. We installed a newer audio processing system that has newer and more robust features to make every note ring out loud and clear. Again, the goal is to make it sound great so your ears don’t get tired and you can listen in many different environments and not have to keep reaching for the volume knob. Another very cool feature of this new tool is something that may be boring to some, but if you’ve ever spent time listening to music, whether on a protable device or from a CD or on the FM radio, you know things may not be as clear or dynamic as they have been in the past. To sum it up, basically FM radio has been in a “loudness war” for about 25-30 years. Each station wants to out-do the next and they figure if it’s louder, you’ll stop scanning and listen. Record companies have seen this and wanted in on the action. To do this, they’ve started employing a trick that FM radio folks have been doing called clipping. Basically, this is a way to pump up the volume as high as possible while digitally limiting, or clipping, the sound off at the highest level possible, 0 dB. This accomplishes one thing, ugly, loud and distorted audio. FM radio can get away with it to a degree because of a lot of other things going on between their transmitters and our radios. It hides a lot of the distortion. CDs don’t have that luxury. Back to my point… This new audio processing tool has a miraculous feature called a de-clipper. It mathematically looks at the clipped audio (which is no longer in a normal wavy form, but a flat-line appearance) and predicts what it really should look like. It actually restores the wavy form! Again, this is a lot of techy mumbo-jumbo to many of you. But it’s all in an effort to give you the best sounding audio possible and even better sounding than listening from a CD! if you want to learn more, please comment below and I’ll reach out to you personally.

As always, we’re continually trying to make our station sound better than all the rest of the Country stations out there. It’s not an easy task. But I want to thank each of you for listening! It means the world to me that you are taking part of something I’m creating. And even more so if you actually enjoy it!

Have a fantastic summer!!
