[important]We will be going on vacation for the next couple weeks and will not have the time or access to continue carrying The Bobby D Show. This Thursday morning will be the last show until we return on the 24th.[/important]

When we return, I will be starting to add some classic Halloween songs to our mix! You’ll hear Ghostbusters, Thriller, Monster Mash and more! Then on Halloween night, at 8pm Mountain, we will play the original broadcast of The War of the Worlds with Orson Welles from 1938! This has been a yearly tradition for a long, long time! You be sure to join us, it’s not something to miss!

We hope you excuse us for a bit while we are away. Don’t worry, we’ll still have our hot country hits rockin’ the world!

Coming up…

Hey friends! I wanted to post a few items of business coming up in the next little bit. Starting in October, I will be starting to mix in some Halloween music. This will be music that isn’t Country, but is appropriate for the Season. You’ll hear great tunes like Ghostbusters, Thriller and Monster Mash. I know there are some of you die-hard fans that may find it difficult to bear such a burden. Rest assured, it will only be 1-2 songs per hour. In the past, I’ve also programmed a special day of all Halloween music and a live show on Halloween night. Due to other previous commitments, I will not be able to do this. However, I will be able to continue the tradition of playing the original broadcast of the War of the Worlds from 1948! This will be played, in it’s entirety at 8pm Mountain. Pretty exciting stuff!

The next item is our 100% Christmas music that begins the day after Thanksgiving. On November 25th, we go all Christmas! This is a long-held tradition on this station, for years before we became America’s Country. Since we are a Country station now, we will try to have more Christmas songs performed by Country performers. We also only play 2 station IDs per hour, this means very low interruption so you can play our station in your homes or your businesses and it will create a wonderful soundtrack for the Holiday Season. Christmas music will go all the way up to New Year’s Eve. Of course, we will be commercial-free so why would you listen to anything else?

I’m really excited for the coming months here at America’s Country! Keep your eyes peeled as we will for sure have more info and details as things get closer. Thank you for listening and sticking with America’s Country!

Halloween 2010!!

Alright, kiddies… We’re getting to that time of year where ghouls and ghosts and goblins come out to play! They’ve just started taking over the KXRT playlist! From now through Halloween, our 80’s, HUGE Variety and FreAkY FrIDay playlists will feature at least one Halloween tune per hour! As we get nearer to All Hallows Eve, that will increase!

We love Halloween here at KXRT and, like so many years past, we will have our Big Halloween Broadcast again! For years, we’ve provided a day full of great spooky music, ghost stories and more that culminates in a full re-broadcast of Orson Welles’ The War of the Worlds! We play the entire broadcast from 1938 where thousands of people were convinced that aliens were indeed attacking our world.

This all has become a tradition that has surpassed whatever format or name this station has had. Leading up to the re-broadcast, we will have a live show with your call-ins. You’ll share your own scary stories and Halloween memories. We are adding more and more Halloween music and sounds to our library and are very excited to present it to you! If you’d like to add a suggestion of a song or pre-record your memory or story, please email us at

Thank you for listening to KXRT! Happy Halloween!
