We’ve thrown these in the mix and you should be hearing them already! If there’s music you’d like added, please let me know! If you do your own music and would like me to consider it for our station, please email it to email@example.com.
Today, we launched the third of three Themed Music Days! We started at the beginning of May with Manic Mondays where we played all 80’s. Then we launched Boot Scootin’ Wednesdays that features all Country. Today, we bring you FReaKY FrIDaY!!11!! playing all Alternative music!
I’ve updated the Schedule tab with this info as well to help you keep track of all our programming. We really hope this helps you enjoy our station in a more meaningful way. While we’d like you to listen every day, we understand that people’s musical tastes are pretty sensitive and it’s a bit of a risk as far as a station trying to gain a loyal, dedicated audience, to offer such variety. We do it for a few reasons. First, we’re not your typical FM music radio station! We have much more freedom to make KXRT into anything we’d (and hopefully you’d) like. We also are ok with fans of Country music that may only listen on Wednesdays, or Alternative fans to only listen on Fridays, etc… But we still have three days in the week that feature our regular music selections.
With the aforementioned freedom, we know that things can and probably will change. We hope to keep this schedule in place for at least a few months and get things solid and established for your enjoyment. The way we will change is if you tell us to. Please drop your feedback at any of our “locations”: This page, our Facebook Page, text or call us, or email us! We’re always listening!
Thanks so much for being our friends and listeners!
Starting March 6th at 8am (Mountain), we will debut the newest show to air on KXRT: The DJ Mike Show! The DJ Mike Show is two hours of the best of the 80’s and 90’s pop, rock and new wave music. It’s commercial-free and is just growing in syndication. It’s currently on 4 stations, including AM/FM and internet!
We are very excited to have this show on our station and I think it fits in perfectly with our music selection. For your convenience, we will also replay it at 8pm on Saturdays that the Timmy LIVE! Show is not on.
Watch here for updates and further info on the DJ Mike Show!
Over the weekend I added another batch of great hit music to our already vast library!
NEW: Tim McGraw – Southern Voice (Album)
NEW: Bomshel – Fight Like A Girl (Album)
Hootie & the Blowfish – Greatest Hits
Green Day – International Superhits!
Roxette – Joyride
The Cranberries: Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?
Fleetwood Mac: Greatest Hits
We continually are updating, expanding and improving our catalog of hits. We’ve also just inherited a massive collection of music that we are currently sifting through to broaden our selection even further. We will also adhere to our #1 rule: We are 100% Hits – 100% Fun! We hope you see that in our music and our presentation!
In our striving to keep KXRT hot and fresh, we’ve just added some more new music along with replacing some poor quality recordings with sparkly clean ones!
We’ve added Kenny Chesney’s Greatest Hits II and a compilation called Let It Rock… 1991.
This greatest hits album release includes 12 previously released singles along with 3 that are either brand new (Out Last Night) or not yet released as singles (I’m Alive (with Dave Mathews) and Be As You Are). We already had some of these hits in our library but they were recorded at a lower quality.
Let It Rock… 1991 is a compilation a lot like the Billboard Top Hits collections that are based on year of release. This beauty includes many precious gems of early 90’s pop hits. These include: Nelson – After The Rain, Everybody Plays the Fool – Aaron Neville and my personal favorite from the era: Gerardo – R-r-r-rico Suave!
These two new additions to our library reinforce why KXRT is truly 100% Hits – 100% Fun!
We hope you enjoy our vast music collection every day right here on KXRT!
Update 1: We’ve changed our low bitrate MP3 stream to a PS-AAC stream at the same bitrate. What this means is that for the same amount of bandwidth, you’ll get almost CD Quality stereo sound! Now that iTunes has finally added support for AAC+ streams, this change could be made. Please update your iTunes to version 9 to enjoy this new quality!
Update 2: This Saturday evening, barring anything major, we will have another airing of Timmy LIVE! It will be at 8:00PM Mountain Time. I will have just returned from a big day at the Utah State Fair and should have some incredible stories to share. I will also have a new Timmy LIVE! Top 5 countdown for you and a new featured artist. I’m looking forward to it!
