2017 is looking like a great year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I am very much looking forward to the New Year! 2017 is going to be a fantastic year for America’s Country! We’re still working our way back to where we were before we were forced to pull the plug almost a year ago. It’s been a slow climb but I’m more than happy to keep pushing and pushing. Due to some major differences in the financial aspects of how we are able to be on the air, we have to be a little more creative. I am proud to say we have some interesting changes coming in 2017.

Internet radio is not “regular” or terrestrial radio. Yes, we can certainly do the same things and play the same songs as regular radio stations do, but why? In choosing music we play on America’s Country, I’ve always retained my love for the great hits of the 90s and early 2000s. We play today’s biggest hits, newcomers, and some tunes you may never hear anywhere else. I also play songs that were hot in the past months or year that radio has stopped playing. Some examples are Burning House by Cam and Better Than You Left Me by Mickey Guyton. I play these tunes because they are just great songs and sound good. I also play a bunch of 90s hits that are just fantastic to hear again and again. Shania Twain, The Tractors, and of course, George Strait and Garth Brooks are always amazing to hear.

The Plan

What I will be doing over the next weeks and months is gradually shifting our musical focus away from today’s Top 40 hits and more towards this great library of hits from the 90s and early 2000s. America’s Country will still play these Hot Country Hits and continue to break new songs when they sound good and fit in with the sound of America’s Country. I love Country Music and I know you do too.

I am very excited for these changes and will absolutely keep my hand to the pulse to make sure these changes are good changes. The New Year is going to be amazing and I can’t wait!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!

Friends, welcome to another great year with America’s Country! I know this post is a few days late, but we’re here and we love you! We kicked off 2013 with a cool contest where our loyal listener, Lisa Cramer, won a free CD just for helping us decide the first song of the New Year! She picked Florida Georgia Line’s Cruise. Since that first moment, we’ve been playing Hot Country Hits from the 90’s to Now without commercials!

As we settle back into things, we need you to know that we are adding some great programming. We’re also resuming our programs we all know and love, The Bobby D Show every weekday morning at 6am and Nashville’s New Country twice each Saturday, 9am and 9pm. Our programming only enhances our great selection of music. You also have a big say in what music and shows we play. Our Facebook Page is always alive with your opinions, ideas and comments and we are happy to listen and react.

2013 is going to be the best year yet for us! We’re excited and committed to bring you the best music and programming. There will never be a reason to listen to anything else!

Thank you all so much for your great support and your patience and understanding! We really love you all like you’re family.

2012 What’s Next?

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! As you’re enjoying these wonderful times with your family and loved ones and our excellent, if not downright weird, Christmas Music selection, I wanted to at least hint at some changes coming next year for America’s Country. These are not major changes but some evolutionary changes.

One of the changes you’ll notice almost right away is that we will not be playing music from the 90’s. I really LOVE the 90’s and could someday see creating a station based on mainly 90’s Country. Meanwhile, to keep our focus on what’s hot and fresh (like that pie your sweet Grandma just baked!), we are keeping our music in this century. We have a great library of songs from 2000 to now that will entertain you and keep a grin on your face. We will also still be able to keep our repeats to a minimum and our variety at a maximum!

Something else we’re looking at for 2012 are some new partnerships with great Country Music news publishers. We’re building relationships with sites like Got Country? and CountryMusicIsLove to ensure you are up to date on the latest news and notes from Nashville. We are making changes to our website to include more news and info from these great sources and these news releases will be posted on our page as well as on our Twitter, Facebook and G+ accounts. We are hoping to get more interaction from the artists as well. This should be a lot of fun and informative and keep you coming back for more!

I can’t get much more into details at this point. There needs to be a teaser to get your interest! I will post more here and on our social media pages as things continue to progress!

Please have a very Merry Christmas and a fun and safe New Year’s! Thank you for making 2011 such a successful and enjoyable first year for us at America’s Country!

2010 or 2010?

Happy New Year! 2009 was a huge year for KXRT! We were able to upgrade so many things that continue to make KXRT the best internet radio station! We’ve gotten faster computers, better playback software, much better sound processing tools and a snazzy new live radio show! If all that could happen in 2009, I can’t begin to imagine what’s coming for 2010!

As for the title of today’s post, the discussion has been on-going for a while now as to whether we should call this year twenty-ten or two thousand ten or even oh ten. I seem to go back and forth between the first two choices but am leaning toward twenty-ten. What are your thoughts? (more…)

Happy New Year!

2009 is going to be a great year for KXRT! We expect to have huge increases in listeners and our premium content will keep you listening longer! Our approach to music radio is going to be very unique. It will still sound like “radio”, but since we have a whole world to broadcast to, we have some opportunities for a lot more originality. We plan to set ourselves apart from the rest. We will still deliver the biggest hit songs from the last 30 years, but in a way that is exciting and new!

Keep listening today to hear what we have in store for you. We will launch 2009, officially, at midnight tonight, Mountain Time. We invite you to listen all day at work, and then at home, hook up your laptop or handheld to the home stereo and keep us on all evening! We also ask you to invite your friends and family to listen.

Thanks for a wonderful 2008! Let’s make 2009 the best yet!
